Nooria Nodrat was born in Kabul, Afghanistan in 1961. With both her husband and brother being blind, Nooria experienced first hand the hardships faced by the blind population in her country. She worked as an editor in publishing services for the blind at The Institute for the Blind in Kabul.

Wendy Glinton is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor who helps individuals with mental health disabilities to lead productive lives in the community. She started her career in the field of Rehabilitation at Hillside Hospital in Glen Oaks, New York 13 years ago and currently works at Goodwill Industries of Greater New York and Northern New Jersey as Director of Citiview Connections Clubhouse. She earned her Master's degree in education at Hofstra University.

Yama Bassam

Yama is an international finance and banking executive. He is Managing Partner at Afghanistan Capital Markets and a member of the United States Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). He started his professional career at Morgan Stanley—one of the largest investment banks in the world. He has consulted on a variety of investment, policy, and legal issues with international development agencies, such as the USAID, DIFD, World Bank, and the United Nations, to ensure program implementation in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Bangladesh. Yama is currently a member of the board of directors for Freedom Learners and a member of the board of advisors for UBank, recently acquired by Sovcom Bank

Yama is a graduate of Harvard University, where he earned a Masters degree in Finance and Economics. He received his Bachelors degree in Business from University of Phoenix.

Ms. Susan Farooqi graduated from St. John’s University School of Law, and Baruch College of the City University of New York with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration in Accounting. She has a tremendous amount of legal experience working as an intern for the New York State Supreme Court, Chesney, Nicholas & Brower law firm, and more. She is currently working at Chesney, Nicholas & Brower as an Associate. Additionally, Ms. Farooqi has corporate and accounting experience, and passed the NY bar exam in July 2017.

Ms. Nazanen Momeni graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Biomedical Sciences. She has a tremendous amount of leadership experience. Additionally, Ms. Nazanen has an outstanding amount of volunteer experience in various fields. She is passionate about helping others. In her free time, she volunteers at hospitals and clinics every week in her community to give back. The most recent volunteer experiences include: Onesight Charitable Vision Screenings (for giving charitable eye screenings to those in need), along with Special Olympics Eye Screening, Lions Club at Arizona State University, and more.

Barbara Younger has worked on the Trading Desk at Deerfield Management, New York City’s leading healthcare investment firm, for over 20 years. She was on the founding Executive Committee of the Deerfield Foundation, which is funded by employee contributions, to provide healthcare services and assistance to children in underserved communities around the world. Currently she is a chef at Crossroads Community Center Soup Kitchen on Park Avenue in Manhattan, where she helps to prepare 300 meals three days a week to hungry New Yorkers. She holds a Professional Culinary Certificate from the International Culinary Center and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Fordham University.
